About

I’m a textile designer and maker born and raised in Cornwall where I studied mixed media design at Falmouth University. I went on to working in collaboration with textile artists, where I have the pleasure of creating a diverse range of bespoke embroideries for their work, which you can take a look at on my commission page. It’s an exciting medium to work in with varying ways of collaborating with the artists, creating samples and testing new techniques to see what is best for them within their practice.

Within my own work I specialise in creating hand-made home décor pieces, ranging from cushions to tableware. The work has a sense of beauty and quality all lovingly hand-crafted to create unique, one of a kind pieces that feel special and made just for you.

With a detailed aesthetic and vintage inspired style, I enjoy working with sheer fabrics, mixing delicate laces and nettings with heavier beading and embellishment techniques creating intricate textural pieces and samples for both fashion and interior design.

I love hand-embroidery and beading techniques, taking inspiration from antique textiles with its use of gold work, white work, crewel embroideries and fabric manipulations and re-creating the styles in a contemporary fashion.

When I’m not hand-sewing you’ll be sure to find me on my sewing machine. I use a domestic machine, where my favourite technique has to be creating lace-like styles using the free-embroidery foot attachment. The needle is my pen and I love the delicate organic stitching it creates; it’s like drawing to me.
