This collection inspired by the Rococo period combines pattern and texture with pastel tones and iridescent fabrics; creating intricately worked embroideries of white-work inspired techniques and heavier detailed surfaces. The raised textures of the samples were created to emulate the appearance of etched filigree designs and the use of applique and couching techniques onto sheer fabrics produce a delicate lace-like aesthetic. Inspired by craters, the detailed ruffled surface in a shimmering chiffon reflects light picking up on the accents of metallic in the gold and silver couched cord and PVC “ribbon” giving the filigree style patterns a more futuristic look. The PVC and wire needle-lace design was inspired by the traditional technique of tape-lace, using contemporary materials but still in keeping with the traditional values of the style
